Goal have reported that following discussions between Everton and Barcelona, the Blue are nearing a £21 million deal for Yerry Mina in what promises to be an exciting acquisition. Despite only joining Barcelona in the January window of the 2017/18 season, the Catalonian giants are looking to offload the Colobian due to him failing to impress in Spain and Everton are looking to capitalise on this.
With the impending move of Clement Lenglet from Sevilla and the Pique-Umtiti partnership remaining the norm for Ernesto Valverde, it seems that there is no way for Mina to force his way back into the team and Everton appear to be the club closest to the 23-year-old.
However, Barcelona’s original intention in offloading Yerry Mina was to free up a spot in non-EU registration for incoming Gremio midfielder Arthur. Since then, Paulinho has returned to the Chinese League which would technically free up this spot but with all of the mystery surrounding this transfer, this should have little effect on Mina’s impending transfer. Paulinho’s return was presumably planned with alternative motives involved so fans shouldn’t be worried about this affecting the £21 million move.
