Player Ratings | Spurs 2-2 Everton

Tottenham 2-2 Everton

So that’s the end of the 2018/2019 season and we end it a lot nicer than we did last season. Here’s the player ratings for the 2-2 draw away against Tottenham

Jordan Pickford – 6

Had a decent game when called upon after a tough start with Eric Dier’s early goal, but was wrong-footed by Christian Eriksen’s free-kick for the equaliser.

Kurt Zouma – 6

Would have got a higher mark for his defensive duties, but rated as a right-back, Zouma can’t get more than a six. Didn’t offer enough going forward in an unfamiliar position standing in for Seamus Coleman.

Michael Keane – 6

Had a couple of chances from set pieces but couldn’t make them count. Solid enough at the back after Spurs’ early pressure.

Yerry Mina – 6

Grew into the game after a nervy start, which can be forgiven considering we haven’t seen him for a while apart from in that terrible advert.

Lucas Digne – 7

Sent in peaches whenever called upon as we’ve come to expect, and I’ll genuinely miss watching his deliveries in the close season. Reliable defensively again too.

Idrissa Gueye – 5

Brought off early in the second half for Andre Gomes when it could have been Morgan Schneiderlin to make way, but Gueye’s efforts weren’t quite up to his usual standard. Hopefully not his last in royal blue.

Morgan Schneiderlin – 7

Strong in possession as well as dropping into the holes in the defence whenever any one of Everton’s defenders ventured forward. If we aren’t to sign Andre Gomes this summer, this man could well do a job in his place.

Theo Walcott – 7

Much better from Everton’s senior winger. Several good runs as usual and managed to get his goal to add to the performance.

Gylfi Sigurdsson – 8

Assisted one, and arguably both, of the goals with a great pass to Walcott and a corner for Tosun to come out on top of a scramble. Instrumental in Everton’s attacking play.

Bernard – 6

Had several chances to score for Everton but couldn’t make the most of his chances. Positive nevertheless before he came off with Gueye early in the second half.

Cenk Tosun – 6

Got the goal he needed in a laborious performance. Not a bad back-up striker and will be pleased to stake his claim to stay at the club.

SUBS:

Ademola Lookman (Bernard, 65) – 7

Positive performance off the bench, another player we could definitely do with keeping this summer. Made some threatening runs and livened up the game.

Andre Gomes (Idrissa Gueye, 65) – 6

Decent in possession, but gave away the free-kick which led to the equaliser. Hopefully not his final run out for a club which he has endeared himself to.
