Pickford- 6, good double save in the 2nd half, no real fault for any of the goals, defence sucked in too deep and were allowing Tottenham within firing range
Martina- 3, missing for the most part of the game having to get defence to shift across to cover allowing more free Tottenham runners. investment at left-back needed, regardless of Garbutt’s fitness levels.
Jagielka-4, led well in first half but should be leading the team to play a higher line, or at least instruct pressing from higher up the pitch.
Holgate- 6, improving form is only bonus within this bad run of 4 defeats on the bounce. Not phased by anything that comes at him and looks to build from the back and cut out danger quick.
Kenny- 4, similar to Martina that he allowed just too much freedom to Tottenham down the flanks. Worth noting he’s also 20 years of age and in his first season as a Premier League fullback. Koeman’s signings biting Everton on the backside on the other side.
McCarthy (substituted for Schniderlin 72′)- 5, looked to always send one of the attacking players on their way but defensively was beaten easily enough to expose a vulnerable Everton defence.
Gueye – 6, always lively in his roles that allows him to both defend and attack, just needs to win the ball further up the pitch for him to become a threat in an attacking sense.
Bolasie (substituted for Lennon 57′)- 5, may need more time to acquire match sharpness but isn’t as direct as hoped. Dependent on beating the man and swinging the cross in is all he seems to be looking for.
Sigurdsson- 6, should be playing centrally as with our fullback options are limited in terms of attacking. Few good combos with Rooney and Tosun but being wide left meant he couldn’t dictate.
Rooney- 6, few issues with his end product, few misplaced passes/dispossessed occasionally, but he tried to start off a few attacking moves that ultimately went nowhere. Scored an goal that was given offside, linesman didn’t fancy raising his arm for Kane later in the game.
Tosun (substituted off for Calvert-Lewin 62′)- 6, may be a bit early to tell, but Alladryce’s preferred long ball to the forward approach may need to compensate a fair bit for Tosun, who’s interplay with Rooney and Sigurdsson looked real promising. Unfairly taken off, hold up play was good, just requires men to make the right runs around him.
Lennon (SUB)- 5
Calvert-Lewin (SUB) – 5
Schneiderin (SUB)- 5
