The FA will investigate the clash between Everton defender Mason Holgate and Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino.
The clash happened during the Merseyside derby last night, and happened after Holgate shoved Firmino over the advertising boards. Firmino reacted and an exchange of words was said, and Holgate reacted oddly to Firmino’s words. Whatever Firmino said, it definitely offended Holgate, but we do not yet know what was said.
According to the Liverpool Echo the referee supports Holgate’s view of the incident, and therefore included in in his match report. No cards were handed out to either player surprisingly, but fourth official Jon Moss also made a note of the incident.
