Everton are said to be one of several Premier League sides interested in Frankfurt Forward, Daichi Kamada. The 26 year old Japanese International is out of contract next Summer and could sign a pre-contract agreement this coming January with any teams in the Premier League.

The news of Everton’s interest comes from Forbes stating that with Kamada’s contract ticking down sides could soon try and negotiate a cut price deal and sign him permanently in the January window.

Frankfurt signed Daichi Kamada back in 2017 for a fee as low as €2.5M from J1 League side, Sagan Tosu. The Attacking Midfielder/Forward has been having a great season in Germany playing 19 games so far this season scoring 11 goals and managing 3 assists, already bettering his stats from last season where he managed 9 goals and 4 assists in 46 games.

The German side who are currently sat 5th in the Bundesliga table have offered their star a new contract and are waiting to hear back on if he will sign and commit his future to the club despite wanting to leave in the summer which saw a bid from Portuguese football giants, Benfica rejected.

Frank Lampard’s Everton side is massively missing some creative spark and flare and Kamada could fit the bill. Besides Alex Iwobi there is no other real true attacking midfielder’s to choose from for Lampard and after the blues chasing Blackburn’s Ben Brereton Diaz it is well known that Everton are still wanting to improve their forward options.

Toffee Blues says;

2/5 – Everton really do need to improve their attacking options after we have seen a lack of creative ideas on the pitch and regular poor performances from the wings in Demarai Gray and Anthony Gordon. Signing Kamada could potentially be a smart signing if we manage to get him for a low fee or the possible free transfer next summer. However Everton would be getting a player who hasn’t showed a lot of prolific form besides this current season so it could potentially be a slight risk but sometimes you have to take risks to reap the rewards. This is one to keep an eye on over the World Cup with Kamada set to feature, no doubt Everton will have their scouts watching closely.
