Despite constant rumours of James Rodriguez and Moise Kean leaving the blues this summer new reports have come out over the past 24 hours linking Everton to Napoli and Italy star Lorenzo Insigne. The 30 year old Italian has 12 months left on his contract and according to Italian Sports Channel, Rai Sport, Everton are interested in signing the playmaker with Rafa Benitez rating him highly after working together during Benitez’s stint in Naples.
Even more reports have came out from Sky Sports Italia linking Insigne to the toffees but they say that Everton will be up against Inter Milan and Zenit for Insigne’s signature with Napoli said to be asking for a fee of €25 Million. Arsenal and Atletico Madrid have been linked more recently from Calciomercato but instead on a free transfer which I think is a very unlikely move from Napoli’s point of view
With James Rodriguez looking more and more likely to be leaving Everton as the days go on Insigne could possibly fill a James sized void that would be missing from the Everton squad. However at 30 years of age and a large fee of €25 Million likely to be the price it really would show that Everton have learnt no lessons from their past as a player like Insigne would be asking for very high wages. Can’t seen this one happening
