Everton are said to be confident in signing James Tarkowski on a free transfer this coming transfer window. According to the Daily Mail, the blues are waiting for the 29 year old to return from his holiday to make a decision on his future.
The Burnley Defender who is now a free agent has a host of Premier League clubs interested in his services such as Aston Villa, Newcastle United and Fulham.
Tarkowski’s Burnley teammate Ben Mee is also attracting interest from Premier League clubs after deciding he will not sign a new contract with the now relegated Clarets.
Frank Lampard is hoping to add another Defender to the Everton squad leaving the futures of Michael Keane, Mason Holgate and Yerry Mina in doubt. Lampard is keen to add more leadership to the Everton backline which struggled in form for the season seeing Everton finish 16th in the Premier League.
Toffee Blues Rumour Rating; 4/5
This rumour is growing stronger every day it goes on. The signing of James Tarkowski overall is good business for Everton, we would be getting a strong, well experienced Premier League Defender who is leader at the back on a free transfer. Likely to be wanting a decent sized wage, so long as his contract isn’t a 5 year deal their really can’t be any complaints. Everton are in need of some improvements to the Defence and Tarkowski would be a welcomed addition.
