Hello, and welcome back to another loan report! After a few months away, let’s take a look at how the lads are getting on…
Harry Tyrer:
Chesterfield- 1st out of 24- National League
Tyrer has enjoyed an outstanding loan spell at Chesterfield, playing a starring role as the Spireites raced towards the league title.
The 22-year-old recorded his 11th clean sheet of the season last month, as Paul Cook’s side clinched promotion with a 3-0 victory over Boreham Wood.
Ryan Boot has been the preferred ‘keeper since their ascendency to League Two was confirmed, however the Evertonian has had a memorable campaign, featuring in 39 of 43 National League matches.
Tyrer has been linked with a return to Derbyshire next season, having impressed the manager and fans alike with his commanding displays.
The champions face Wealdstone on Saturday, as they look to end their exceptional season in style.
Neal Maupay:
Brentford- 15th out of 20- Premier League
The goals have dried up as of late for Maupay, as he finds himself embroiled in a relegation battle against his parent club.
Brentford have had a tough campaign and find themselves four points ahead of the drop zone.
The Frenchman has registered six league goals for the Bees but lost his place in the side to Ivan Toney in March, spending his time arguing on social media with Luke Littler instead.
Maupay will face Sheffield United on Saturday, looking to stretch the gap between themselves and Luton Town.
Mason Holgate:
Sheffield United- 20th out of 20- Premier League
Holgate’s struggles have continued this season, as his campaign looks set to head for relegation with Sheffield United.
The defender has made six appearances for the Blades since joining in January, having been banned for three matches following a red card challenge on Kaoru Mitoma.
Prior to arriving at Brammall Lane, the 27-year-old was plying his trade at Southampton, amassing just five league games for the Saints.
Holgate faces his ex-teammate Maupay on Saturday, as Sheffield United look to pull off an improbable great escape.
Zan-Luk Leban:
Farsley Celtic- 21st out of 24- National League North
Leban’s debut season in men’s football has been a difficult one, as Farsley Celtic find themselves in the last relegation spot with three games to go.
Celtic were languishing in mid-table for the majority of the campaign, however a run of one win in 12 catapulted them towards the drop zone.
Despite the team’s struggles, Leban has impressed, picking up 14 clean sheets in 38 league matches.
The 21-year-old was in heroic form on Saturday, pulling off a string of saves in a crucial 1-0 win over fellow strugglers Peterborough Sports.
The goalkeeper will face the same opponents on Tuesday, as Clayton Donaldson’s side look to secure safety.
Elijah Campbell:
Fleetwood Town- 23rd out of 24- League One
Campbell’s first loan spell away from Goodison has been a successful one, despite his side’s struggles.
Fleetwood sit 23rd in League One, six points adrift of safety with five games to go, but the defender has managed 11 appearances since arriving in January.
The 19-year-old missed back-to-back draws with Bristol Rovers and Charlton Athletic due to injury, before returning to action in a costly 2-1 defeat at home to Cheltenham Town.
Campbell, who featured amongst the Everton substitutes at Turf Moor in December, will now gear up for a crunch clash away to Blackpool on Tuesday.
Sean McAllister:
Inverness Caledonian Thistle- 9th out of 10- Scottish Championship
The 21-year-old midfielder was in fine form for Duncan Ferguson’s Inverness, until injury struck last month.
The Northern Ireland Youth star scored his first senior goal away to Morton in his most recent appearance, although has been missing from all squads since due to a thigh problem.
Ferguson’s side face Queen’s Park on Saturday in a huge game, with the loser likely to end the season in the relegation play-off spot.
