Everton Targeting Barcelona Duo

It seems as though this summer is just a series of rumours popping up before failing to gather steam or being dismissed by a more reliable source, but Marco Silva’s transfer history at Goodison may be about to begin. Granted the Yerry Mina links have been made for several days and a variety of sources have claimed that a deal had been agreed, but it seems like the interest is concrete, as well as with his club teammate Lucas Digne. Paul Joyce has stated that Everton have an interest in the Barcelona duo and will therefore seek out a deal in the coming weeks before the closure of the window.

It doesn’t get more reliable than Joyce and these could easily be Silva’s first signings of the season. The recent week’s activities, or perhaps more specifically lack of such, have worried many Everton fans into thinking Silva and Brands are leaving it too late with only four weeks until the beginning of the season. As well as this, only the home kit has been announced and there is no official confirmation of squad numbers.

From the outside looking in, it can appear that nothing is going on at Goodison but Brands appears to be conducting his business under wraps and there should be at least two signings on their way, if Joyce is anything to go by. Patience seems to be the key in this window and despite a lack of incomings, the priority was always to reduce the wage bill and size of the team to make the coming season more manageable for new boss Marco Silva.
