A quick player ratings round up of the players performances from tonight’s game.
Stekelenburg – 6
Didn’t really have much to do but when called upon was reliable.
Holgate – 7
Considering the lad was playing at left back when he is originally a centre back he done really well and made some good attacking runs.
Kenny – 7
A good performance from the young lad. Some very good attacking runs and crosses. Didn’t really have any defensive issues. Get him playing regularly Ronald!
Williams – 6
Battled well against James Vaughan. Didn’t really do too much wrong in all honesty.
Keane – 6
A calm performance by Keano. Didn’t really put a foot wrong and kept a solid defensive line with Williams.
Davies – 9
The lad was pure class tonight. My man of the match. Controlled the midfield, creating chances with runs and putting in some good tackles. Great assist for Niasse’s goal
Besic – 6
Took his time to get into the game and made so poor passes during the game. Made some good turns when he had possession. Not his worst performance but not his best.
Klaassen- 6
He didn’t do too bad. But I won’t lie I can’t remember him doing much in the game. Still needs time to gel this one.
Vlasic – 8
Very energetic performance from Nikola. Had a good attacking presence and caused Sunderland some problems. Also made some very good tackles to win us possession.
Sandro – 7
Didn’t have his finishing boots on today. Had some decent chances and was unlucky not to score. He’ll get his goal soon enough.
Calvert-Lewin – 8
Two very good finishes from the lad today. Battled well against Sunderlands defence and was very unlucky to not get a hat-trick!
Substitutes
Niasse – 7
The man made his return and got his goal. The man without a locker has his locker now
Lookman – 7
Had some good buildup play with Niasse when coming on. Almost scored within minutes of coming on. Lost the ball every now and then but still had a say in the game.
Lennon – 6
Came on late in the game to give us some pace didn’t really do much. But didn’t do much wrong. A nice site to see Aaron back on the Goodison pitch.
And that’s that folks here’s hoping for a good performance against Bournemouth!
