Several big Performers and a Couple of Key Wins Highlighted December for Everton, and this is who the Contributors at the Toffee Blues Thought Shined the Brightest.
THIRD PLACE: TIM IROEGBUNAM (1 VOTE)

Everton’s young midfielder has really started to come into his own under David Moyes, and had himself a rather decent month of December as proof. Tim started four matches in the month of December, highlighted by strong performances in the toffees’ win against Bournemouth and their narrow defeat at Arsenal. He has filled in well and seemingly has learned a lot about his role from Idrissa Gueye, as he continues to turn into a physical and pacey midfielder who can stride forward wit the football. He has won tackles at a high level this season and has progressed immensely in his ability to move the attack up the pitch, even if at times his final pass has been left wanting. His uptick in quality has been a major bonus for David Moyes, who has similarly seen Dewsbury-Hall and James Garner play bigger roles this campaign than some perhaps maybe would have though. His performances were sound, and it is a deserving appearance on the player of the month nominees.
SECOND PLACE: THIERNO BARRY (3 VOTES)

After what surely felt like an eternity for Thierno Barry at Everton, he finally got himself off the mark in the month of December. He scored a confident and composed finish against Forest in a 3-0 win, and scored an equally strong goal against Forest (again) at the end of the month. The young Frenchman from Villareal is someone that the club and the supporters have been quietly optimistic about despite his gentle introduction into life with Everton. He has shown his quality in spurts, getting into good position and holding up the play well. He finally got a couple of knife’s edge chances in December, and he buried them with aplomb. As Beto has continued to struggle, it is looking more and more like Thierno will be given the reigns as the main man up top, and asked to score some pivotal goals for the blues in a race for the top-half and perhaps even a European spot. If he continues to score as he did in December, there is no doubt Barry can become a fan favorite, and the club are surely looking forward to reuniting him with Dewsbury-Hall and Iliman Ndiaye soon.
THIRD PLACE: JAMES GARNER (18 VOTES)

A runaway winner of the Toffee Blues Player of the Month Award once again, this time it is James Garner who stole Everton supporters hearts in the month of December. The 24 year old has shown this season that not only is his versatility crucial, with an ability to play right back and just about anywhere in the midfield, but that he has improved considerably once again from the previous year. He scored and assisted in Everton’s 0-2 win at Forest, and did not register a rating lower than a 7.0 in any of the 5 games he started and played in in December. He went the distance in every match except the 0-2 loss against Chelsea, which he registered 84 minutes in.
He’s registered an 88% passing accuracy on the season to go along with 2 goals and 3 assists. He has created 27 chances, and has even won 56% of his dribble attempts. Importantly, he has shown that when called upon he can play an important role defensively for the toffees as well. He has won 64 tackles and 116 duels to go along with registering 32 interceptions. His ability in the midfield has been key in settling young players such as Iroegbunam, and his range of passing has started to unlock the potential of Barry up top. Rumors that a new contract is imminent is great news for the club, who will be keen to keep one of their brightest around for the future. A well deserved winner, James Garner is the Toffee Blues Player of the Month for the month of December.
