Loan Report | Joe Williams’ Barnsley run riot over “Everton B” Sunderland

This is the first of a weekly series where we look into how all of the Players the blues shipped out on loan have fared in their weekend games. As this is the first of these series of weekly articles, we will also briefly look at how they have fared since they joined their new side.

Kieran Dowell; Nottingham Forest

Since Dowell joined he has featured in every game, scoring once, but creating a whole lot more. Kieran scored his only Forest goal to date in a 4-3 away victory at Brentford, and his ability on the ball, quick-feet and vision has so far has left the Forest Fans delighted.

This Weekend: Forest 0-2 Leeds. This game was the kind of game why Ronald Koeman loaned out young Dowell, he looked inaffective, poor, lazy and gave the ball away regulary. These games are expected in young players game. This game has not changed Forest fans views, on his arrival though.

Antonee Robinson; Bolton Wanderers

Since Robinson joined he has featured twice, two starts coming against Crewe Alexandra and Sheffield Wednesday in the League cup, where he even managed an assist in the 3-2 victory against Sheffield United.

This Weekend: Robinson still has not featured in a League game, as Bolton where destroyed 4-0 at Hull.

Joe Williams; Barnsley

Joe has featured in every league game since his arrival at Barnsley, and after a slow start is described to be “finding his feet” and “getting better every game”

This weekend: Joe Williams was superb and highly praised by Barnsley supporters, Joe Williams was a nomination for man of the match, but finished second in the voting, to some fans shock, who felt he was robbed of the award. Joe kept Winger Aiden McGeady and Midfielder Lee Cattermole quiet as the Tykes ran out victorious.

Matthew Pennington; Leeds United

Matthew has only featured for 54 minutes since he joined Leeds, in a 3-2 win at Bolton, before his departure due to injury, he has yet to feature since and is still out injured.

Brendan Galloway + Tyias Browning: Sunderland

Brendan has featured at Left-Back in every game for Sunderland so far this season (bar their most recent) and has suffered a lot of stick by Sunderland fans for his positioning and ability, which again arises the question: What is Brendan Galloway’s best position?

This Weekend, Galloway was left out of the 18 man squad, who where greatly defeated 3-0 away at Joe Williams’ Barnsley.

In contrast, the Black Cat supporters have grew to Tyias as a fan favourite. Tyias has been playing Centre-Back and was said to be creating a very good relationship and partnership with Lamine Kone. Browning was heaped with praise following superb performances against Derby, and then away at Bury, Norwich and Sheffield Wednesday.

This weekend: Barnsley 3-0 Sunderland. Early season form was threw out of the window for Tyias, as the ratings did not favour the young defender, as Joe Williams’ Barnsley ran riot at Oakwell.

That’s the end of the loan report this week, tune in for the next one!
