Championship:
Harrison Armstrong- Preston North End- 4th out of 24
Armstrong started both of Preston’s wins this week, as The Lilywhites consolidated their place in the play-off spots.
The midfielder continued his impressive start at Deepdale with successive strong performances over Southampton and Swansea City.
Preston face Millwall on Saturday.
League One:
Francis Okoronkwo- Lincoln City- 5th out of 24
Okoronkwo appeared as a substitute in Lincoln’s shock FA Cup exit to Salford City last week.
The forward was introduced to the action on 112 minutes with the game level at 1-1, before The Imps bowed out to their League Two opponents on penalties.
Lincoln will be looking to bounce back away to Rotherham United next.
Martin Sherif- Rotherham United- 12th out of 24
Sherif featured twice in three days for The Millers, as the 19-year-old continues to step up his recovery from a hamstring injury.
Rotherham were knocked out of the cup to Swindon Town at the weekend, before stretching their unbeaten run in League One to five games on Tuesday with a stoppage-time equaliser against Burton Albion.
Sherif was brought on by Matt Hamshaw in both fixtures, and the striker will be hoping for a start versus Lincoln City on Saturday.
Tyler Onyango- Stockport County- 1st out of 24
Onyango played 75 minutes of Stockport’s 3-1 FA Cup triumph over Tranmere Rovers, with victory setting up a home tie with Cambridge United in the second round.
The Hatters have won five games on the spin, and host an out-of-sorts Luton Town next.
League Two:
Isaac Heath- Accrington Stanley- 21st out of 24
Heath played the entirety of Accrington’s cup scare at Gainsborough Trinity, as the non-league minnows took The Reds to extra-time.
John Doolan’s side eventually triumphed 2-1, with all eyes now on Saturday’s visit to high-flying Chesterfield.
National League North:
Fraser Barnsley/Odin Samuels Smith- Marine- 13th out of 24
Both loanees played in Marine’s agonising late draw at Chester, as The Seals equalised in stoppage-time to rob Bobby Grant’s side of all three points.
Samuels-Smith was carded on 38 minutes, whilst Barnsley was denied a second clean sheet of the season at the death.
Marine travel to Leamington next.
North West Counties:
Goodness Gospel-Eze- Burscough- 4th out of 24
Gospel-Eze started both of Burscough’s wins last week, as The Linnets climbed to 4th in the table.
Successive victories over Barnoldswick and Stockport Town saw the ‘keeper continue his impressive start to his senior career, with the 17-year-old now set to face Ashton Town on Saturday.
