Hayashi Everton Contract

Honoka Hayashi has signed a new contract with Everton until the end of June 2027, with a Club option for a further year.

A regular in midfield since joining the Blues in July 2024, the Japan international has established herself as a tough tackler in the middle of the park with an eye for an important goal.

The 27-year-old’s stellar performances were highlighted in December 2025 when she was nominated for both the WSL’s Player of the Month award and Goal of the Month award.

Now Hayashi is looking to keep on impressing after committing her future to Everton.

“I am really happy about signing a new contract,” Hayashi told evertontv. “I love playing for Everton and I want to contribute to the team in the next seasons and bring a lot of good results.

“It is such a pleasure to play for Everton. I am really honoured to play here.

“Goodison Park has a lot of history. I went to see men’s matches at Goodison Park last season. I am really glad and happy to play at such an iconic stadium. I would love to win as many games as possible at such a beautiful home.”

Hayashi made history in October – her powerful strike against Manchester United seeing her become the first-ever Women’s goalscorer at Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Hayashi then netted the winner against Chelsea at Kingsmeadow – handing the reigning WSL champions their first league defeat in 585 days. Just six days later, ‘Hono’ was back in the goals once more as she equalised against reigning European champions Arsenal with a curling strike in front of the Gwladys Street End.

“Before the game, I never thought I would be the first Women’s goalscorer at Hill Dickinson Stadium,” continued Hayashi. “As a result, I scored a goal that made history. I am really glad and happy about that.

“It is important to play as a team. I trust my teammates and try not to miss any chances to score a goal. I always want to aim for goals, they are the most important things.

“I get a lot of energy and enthusiasm from the fans and that gives me a lot of energy and encouragement to play.”

Hayashi was joined at Everton by a trio of her Japan teammates over the summer, as Rion Ishikawa, Hikaru Kitagawa and Yuka Momiki all made the move to Merseyside.

“It is very good to have Japanese teammates around,” added Everton’s number six. “They also communicate with other teammates and are getting used to the team and the environment. Because of that, I think we can use that strength to contribute to the team.

“It has been amazing having them with me in Liverpool, which is such a good place. It is easy to live in. We all went sightseeing in town recently. I really like the city of Liverpool.”
