Armstrong injured! Heath scores again!

Championship:

Harrison Armstrong- Preston North End- 5th out of 24

Armstrong was missing for both of Preston’s fixtures last week after sustaining a groin injury on international duty.

The Lilywhites suffered in the midfielder’s absence, as a home defeat to Blackburn Rovers and a draw at Watford saw PNE slide to fifth.

Preston travel to Hillsborough next.

 

League One:

Francis Okoronkwo- Lincoln City- 3rd out of 24

Okoronkwo was subbed at half time in Lincoln’s 3-2 loss at Wycombe Wanderers, as Michael Skubala’s side dropped out of the automatic promotion spots.

The Imps host Port Vale on Saturday.

 

Martin Sherif- Rotherham United- 11th out of 24

Sherif’s injury woes continued last week, as the striker was again absent from The Millers’ squad for their 1-1 draw with Reading.

Rotherham welcome Wycombe to the New York Stadium next, looking to make it nine games unbeaten in League One.

 

Tyler Onyango- Stockport County- 4th out of 24

Onyango was absent for Stockport’s second successive 3-0 defeat at Peterborough United.

Dave Challinor’s side now sit one point behind league-leaders Cardiff City heading into Saturday’s home clash with Barnsley.

 

League Two:

Isaac Heath- Accrington Stanley- 18th out of 24

Heath bagged his fourth goal of the season against Crawley Town, earning the visitors a 1-1 draw with his 28th minute strike.

The loanee opened the scoring for Stanley, deflecting Isaac Sinclair’s goal bound effort past the home ‘keeper to extend Accrington’s unbeaten run to five games.

The Reds host Oldham Athletic next, with Heath searching for his third goal in as many matches.

 

National League North:

Fraser Barnsley/Odin Samuels-Smith- Marine- 5th out of 24

Barnsley and Samuels-Smith played starring roles in Marine’s magical week, as The Lilywhites rose to fifth in the table.

The pair recorded back-to-back clean sheets against Oxford City and Kidderminster Harriers, with both ‘keeper and defender playing the full 90 minutes in each fixture.

Marine make the trip to struggling Hereford on Saturday, looking to establish themselves in the play-off spots.

 

North West Counties:

Goodness Gospel-Eze- Burscough- 7th out of 24

Gospel-Eze was between the sticks for Burscough’s 3-1 Macron Cup win over AFC Blackpool.

The Linnets face Padiham in league action next.
