Armstrong POTM! Onyango top of the league!

Championship:

Harrison Armstrong- Preston North End- 5th out of 24

Armstrong shone in Preston’s 3-2 comeback win at home to Sheffield United, as The Lilywhites rose to 5th in the table.

The midfielder received the Player of the Match award for his performance against The Blades- the second time he’s been presented with the accolade since joining in August.

Paul Heckingbottom’s side travel to Southampton on Saturday.

 

League One:

Francis Okoronkwo- Lincoln City- 5th out of 24

Okoronkwo appeared twice from the bench last week, as Lincoln picked up one point against Leyton Orient and Bradford City.

The Imps face Salford City next, with the 20-year-old still searching for his first goal of the season.

 

Martin Sherif- Rotherham United- 15th out of 24

Sherif missed Rotherham’s historic win against Barnsley due to injury, as the forward’s spell on the sidelines continues.

Saturday’s result was The Millers’ first victory at Oakdale in over 50 years, making it three league wins on the spin for Matt Hamshaw’s side.

Rotherham host Swindon Town next.

 

Tyler Onyango- Stockport County- 1st out of 24

Onyango started Stockport’s 3-0 away win at Port Vale on Monday and picked up an assist as The Hatters reached the League One summit after four straight victories.

The defender is back in action this weekend, returning to Merseyside for a cup clash against Tranmere Rovers.

 

League Two:

Isaac Heath- Accrington Stanley- 21st out of 24

Heath played the full 90 minutes in both of Stanley’s fixtures last week.

Accrington lost 2-1 to Fleetwood Town, before drawing at home to Tranmere on Tuesday night.

John Doolan’s side make the trip to Gainsborough Trinity in the FA Cup next.

 

National League North:

Fraser Barnsley/Odin Samuels Smith- Marine- 12th out of 24

Both loanees started in Marine’s 2-1 stoppage time victory over Scarborough Athletic.

The Mariners welcome AFC Fylde to Rossett Park on Saturday, looking for their third win on the spin.

 

North West Counties:

Goodness Gospel-Eze- Burscough- 5th out of 24

Gospel-Eze was between the sticks for both of Burscough’s defeats last week, as The Linnets’ seven-game winning run came to an end against West Didsbury & Chorlton.

The ‘keeper travels to Barnoldswick Town next.
